Runway Report
Color has never been more exciting than now with new palettes, strong stand alone colors and rich new mixing philosophies on deck. Yellows are the new strong suit and for added punch they are paired with gold or tan. Greens of all intensities are back as the season’s most coveted color. Blues, earthy neutrals and intensely bohemian palettes are hot while on the other end of the spectrum we have the faintest pastels and the best blushes on deck. You will notice that much of springs color stories are anchored by solid over solid layers and outfits. Prints are taking a slight step back in favor of rich yet subtle embroidery or embellishment techniques. Rich, sumptuous, flexible and multi chromatic are the best words to describe the palettes for spring 2006! Take a closer look!

This fresh crop of neutrals pastels are firmly anchored in nature. Celadons, tan and pale stone are combined with cream for free form mixing and matching. All of the weights are equal so there is no firm rule for bottoms or top weight colors here!

Rich and intense, this palette is steeped in amethyst shades with gold and ruby accents. These colors are best when combined in prints and cut and sew dressing. The violet tones can be worked tonally as well as all shades of purple are on the agenda for spring!

The hidden treasures of the American Indians are celebrated in this palette resonant with bright turquoise, ocean green, earth, sand and highlights of purple and cream. Again, this whole palette is free flowing and colors can be worn as tops and bottoms.

One of the few tonal palettes of the seasons is based in the pink family with shades from blush to bubble gum in the mix. Head to toe dressing within this palette is encourages but so too are mixes with soft and bright paired up in dramatic outfits. Denim ties in beautifully here as do dance looks and soft sportswear pieces.

The newest reds for spring are these bright and rich earthy reds that are perfect when anchored with white, sand or a warm charcoal gray. Persimmon and lipstick red are perfect when worked into prints and layers. Large florals, startling geometrics and solid on solid blocks are best here.
