In this, our 3rd installment on the changing (greening, socially responsible and sustainable thinking) fashion market, we focus on brands that are making a difference and turning the tides!
Brands:
The Indie Designer
If Eco fashion inspires you, then do check out Swedish Indie eco designer Camilla Norrback’s collection shot at Stockholm’s Fashion week 2006 at Wetterling Gallery. Her style is effortless yet sophisticated and it is something the designer has labeled (fittingly!) ‘Ecoluxury’ . Her commitment to eco fabrics and production does not compromise her designs in the least; in fact, they actually enhance her overall look. Check out:

The Brand Angle
Preloved
Specializing in the redesign of vintage clothing, Preloved combines the style of the past with the energy of the future.
Preloved was founded by Julia Grieve (international model) in 1995 with Peter Friesen as head designer. Over the years Preloved moved stores, launched a men's line, grew in the international wholesale market, and most recently developed two new lines; handcut and bloved. Their style is infectious and fun all while being conscious and thrifty. Another great way to satisfy a craving to be better by doing better!

For kids (or celebrity kids!) and their Families!
The Cat’s Tail, or La Queue du Chat is a line of children’s clothing whose mission statement is as impressive as it’s collection of infectiously cute clothing. All pieces are made from ecologically sound fabrics, are produced in a factory in India where the men and women (you can meet the workers on the site!) are paid equally and fairly and the company sends collections of clothing to charities in aid of homeless mothers. This company is part of a bigger umbrella brand called By Nature who offer eco apparel, accessories and house wares for the whole family. Do check them out at
