Paris is almost always the most influential major city of all fashion weeks, and this season was no exception. For Fall 08 many designers referenced historic romanticism but there were also some new shapes that really set the tone for the season. For one, everyone seems to be headed for a longer and leaner silhouette or a more sculpted shape. Items such as harem pants and over-the-knee skirts came into focus and as usual for new items at Paris fashion week, were quite controversial in terms of wearability and most importantly salability.
