Milan is an analysts dream thanks to the strong denim designers such as Andrew McKenzie, Vivienne Westwood and Gaetano Navarra who all show here. McKenzie turned the industry on its ear with clever cuts, ample silhouettes, dropped crotches and several iterations on the cropped jean, all of which must be considered key silos for spring 2009. The jacket also takes center stage and continues along an 80's oriented design path with bells and whistles galore. As far as key updates go, look for the slim silo to replace the skinny or go for the straight body as your bootcut remix. Volume is also an issue and we are seeing more baggy cuts on the runways as well.
