The runways have shuttered but the overall vibe for spring is one of fashion freedom. New shapes, colors and merchandising ideas are in focus. Varying degrees of fashion content mean that there is something for every guy from the Kidult to the raver and from the fashion dabbler to the savant. A nomadic, independent and fluid vibe is felt above all with looks that can travel from work to the other side of the world in a single beat. Layers dominate the landscape as do revised classics from skinny trousers to roomy tees and from heavily detailed cargo pants to short sleeved military jackets. All of these themes play right into the hands of denim thinking and offer a backdrop of themes to explore when designing for the denim generation for Spring 2009. Take a look:
