Home  > Mini Snoops > Early View: Spring/Summer 2009 Inspiration

For this report we took a close look at the boys runways and trade shows in order to give you a birds eye view of the colors stories in the news.

Many classic color stories are in the mix for spring but our favorite newcomer is Grasshopper. This is a perfect example of taking a lifestyle trend (Eco-Green) and applying it literally to even the youngest audience...and with brilliant results. Take a look at the lading color stories for Spring 2009!

Gone Fishing
Neutrals, warm reds and a handful of earth tones are paired with a grass green for a fresh pop. Soft cream and black are your basics here. Be sure to use this palette for outdoorsy looks that have a utilitarian feel and block the colors and contrast the details wherever possible.

Grass Hopper
When we said the whole green scene was going to be important, we meant it! Designers opted for a head to toe green story and we support that notion 100%! Go for leafy, grassy and rich bio-greens. Layer on a soft gray or tan and then pop with clean white for a palette that can be used against sporty, nature or even preppy themes.

Little Rugger
We love this athletic palette because it takes what we know and mixes things up a bit. Sure there’s red, black and white but there is a fresh navy, and a wonderful assortment of blues and denims in the mix. That means you can go sporty or completely casual here. Buttery tans are a perfect neutralizer here!

Route 66
The car theme of the season brings with it a wonderful handful of brights such as turquoise, lime and red and pairs them with the obvious white and black. But you can also go a different route here with the navy anchor and the jade greens for pop. Either way, this palette will give you great mileage!
