Once again we have a fall season on the horizon that promises to be an exciting one. New themes, influences and new denim silhouettes and colors are all helping to shape the stories for the little guys. Take a look:

Mountain High
You can run this adventure theme right up the mountain and back down the other side; that's how much mileage you can get here! Classic mountain pieces such as puffer vests, parkas and checkered shirts are back by popular demand. But you will also want to add printed corduroy pants (preferably menswear patterning), nature camp print fleece and bottoms, animal motif tees and sweaters and mixed media bottoms ( corduroy with twill and a rib cuff or detail). Be sure to also add in the texture element that is key in this market; Sherpa and wooly trims rule!

Prep Academy
Back to school time would NOT be complete without some Prep component. For 2008, the news includes a heathered and weathered approach in knits and wovens. Menswear plaids and stripes are in the mix as are silhouettes from vests to blazers and classic pants and shirts. Neckties (matching to the shirt), scarves, intricate embroidered crests and oversized logos (has anyone seen the Polo pony these days!) are the new focal points.

Punk Rock
This look borrows straight from the Hot Topic and My Chemical Romance crowd (not to mention the Hip Celebrity baby bunch)and introduces black denim, red plaids, all over print fleece (with Happy Skulls, of course) and a slew of shirts with screen prints and neckties for that head to toe look. Studs are key in art and as a trim and that Little Punk attitude should prevail in your screens and trims.

Oliver Twist
Going Retro? This theme based on the beloved story brings the nostalgic English ingredients to our fashion landscape. Grandpa cardigans, tweedy knit tops and knit or woven vests can quickly become staple items. Be sure to add in some striped sweaters (heathered and flecked yarns need to be included) and some inky jeans or menswear patterned printed bottoms. Keep the colors, screens and patterns earthy and warm and think layers all the way. Be sure to also keep all of the finishes soft and brushed for added coziness.
