Spring 2005 Color Report
Key Colors:
The Palettes:

Spring colors are always a refreshing change after the darker colors present in the stores for fall/winter. We have researched the major color services to bring you a summary of important colors and palettes for spring 2005.
For little girls, pinks are always important but this season they play second banana to peaches and corals. Also key are blues from periwinkles to darker royals that coincide with the strong denim trend. A hot palette to watch is red combined with oranges, yellows and fuschia while the candy theme promises to sweeten up the season for infants and toddlers. Take a closer look!

Blue Belle
The one color that is the most popular and the most versatile is blue. This has been the case for many seasons and continues to be the strongest for spring 2005. The popularity goes hand in hand with the strength of denim. For spring the blues are more periwinkle in tone with more red than yellow in their composition. Blues will work best tonally, from the palest to the darkest, in plaids, prints and stripes. Vintage wallpaper motifs or ditsies done in all blues will be strong. Denim continues to dominate fashion and although dyed denim will be strong this Spring, denim blue will prevail!

Peaches & Cream
Coral takes a front row seat to pinks this season. This color is key because of its versatility and its newness in the face of years of pinks. Work tonally with pastel peaches all the way to the darkest melon. These shades also work well when teamed with yellow or try an adventurous mix with citrus green for that kitschy feel. You will find peach shades worked into most palettes!

Candy Machine
Yum yum!!!!! Bright is right! Candy is the inspiration here and this theme will be translated into many girls' collections for spring 2005. Reds, pinks, yellows, oranges, peri blues and greens in their clearest, brightest hues are served up here. This palette is great on its own in tops and bottoms but can be the accent to darker colors, including black for a mod look. Like candy, this look will be eaten up!!!

Creamsicle
This palette consists of more intense iced pastels that remind us of a hot day in South Beach with the colored buildings and vintage cars. These work well next to the brights for a tonal conversation or as pop colors for some of the lighter palettes. The pink in this palette has more of a yellow base, making it more of a coral tone. The lime is a sherbet green and the blue is more peri but in a softer hue. This palette works well on its own and makes plaids, stripes and beautiful floral prints tastier than ever!

For newborn, a feeling of softness, tranquility and peace is achieved with the use of these watercolor shades. The lightest pastel pinks, peaches, lilacs, yellows, mints and white are musts for layette girls and will be great in any age group for that matter due to the success of the Juicy knit sets in light pastel colors. Hot Stuff
Sizzling bright reds, corals and pinks mix and mingle to create intense heat for girls of all ages. These colors are great on their own or paired with their cool ounterparts. Pop in the yellow to make it even hotter and use in large tropical florals, bold screens, prints and madras then top off with fun crochet knits. Muy caliente!!
