Reverb-laden vocals with lots of reverb are key to today's music scene. Band of Horses, along with The Shins and Rogue Wave have in fact dominated the Indie pop-rock scene with this exact music style. Melodic chord progressions combined with harmonic vocals is a sound the public has been longing for since artists such as Neil Young, Beach Boys and The Beatles.

Their Style: Grunge combined with an American Outdoors feel, including flannel checked shirts, trucker caps and long beards, reminiscent of the north western states of America like Oregon and Washington.

They are an experimental rock band from Toronto, Canada, who got Roskilde festival goers dancing like crazy! Graham Walsh and Brian Borcherdt started the band 3 years ago and are today known for using live instruments, sometimes including a 35 mm film sequencer, toy keyboards and toy phaser guns to create electronic sounding effects. Placed in a circle, like a band practicing in their garage, the 4-man band improvised their way through the set creating the mood that was just right for the occasion.

Their Style: Relaxed sportswear, lots of denim and tees or checked shirts.

From Brooklyn, New York, MGMT – formerly known as Management - have literally taken over the world with their music. From Glastonbury festival to Roskilde, MGMT concerts were packed with fans, who knew the lyrics to all their songs, and critics have done nothing but rave on about their success. Their music style mixes 70 psychedelia with 90s rock and electro new rave, and the guitar is key to every tune.

Their Style: Reflecting their music, there is a bit of 70s tie dye and 90s slim fit trousers and sportswear.

Lead singer Andrew Vanwyngarden's bohemian eclectic style has got the fashion scene keeping a close eye on him, as he continuously and effortlessly looks good no matter what he's wearing. Even a purple bandanna around his head with a pink flower attached to the side looks nothing but dead cool, and had fans mimicking seconds after.

Her debut album has only just hit record stores, and yet Brooklyn-born Santogold managed to fill up the entire music hall with her eclectic music genre, which no one can quite pinpoint. A combination of dancehall, punk, 80s pop, hip-hop, dub and electro that creates a much-needed unique and new sound, completely Santogold copyrighted.

Her Style: Like her music, Santogold is not scared to experiment with fashion styles, colors and silhouettes. At Roskilde she wore white denim with a voluminous grey sweatshirt, with padded circular cutouts in bright yellow, red and blue.

A Finnish French duo who nobody had heard much of at Roskilde, but everyone was talking about after they played! The angelic northern voice of Olivia B. Merilahti teamed with instrumentalist, Dan Levy, creates divine folk-pop, which the Roskilde crowd found new and interesting.

Their Style: An eclectic mix of cowboy, hip-hop and American native accessories combined with vintage and second hand finds. Lots of color and print clashes.

Lust, Lust, Lust the latest album from local Danish heroes the Raveonettes takes us into a world of what we like to call dirty glamour. Sune Wagner and Sharin Foo's harmonic vocal mix with added reverb, on top of a dirty guitar base sound, creates an original feel that mixes two worlds few would dare to approach. Ironically, Sune Wagner tried to start up the band in the USA in an act of redemption towards the Danish music scene, only to travel back to Copenhagen where he teamed up with Foo, and eventually broke into the international scene.

With that said Lust Lust Lust seems to be the first album the Danes are proud of, which was felt in the Arena tent when the Raveonettes successfully entertained their midnight crowd Saturday night.

Their Style: 50s mod rocker inspired, with a film noir red, black and white colour scheme combined with slim silhouettes and lots of stripes.
