The spring junior runways yielded an unprecedented softness and this plays well for the girl's market. Many classic trends such as Safari suddenly came into focus for girls thanks to the addition of draped pants and tons of gold glitter. A Prima Ballerina dance look is also back on the books and for girls it is all about pairing knits with soft satin wovens and whipping them into delicious confections such as dropped waist dresses and flutter sleeved yoked tunics. Sweet Country Girl and Western looks are back but with some much needed softness coming from feminized blouses, chambray dressing, buttery retro 70's blue denim and casual classics such as belted shirt dresses. On the Americana front, red, white and blue are worked into both a retro 50's look as well as a slightly more boyfriend inspired silhouette drive trend that can ultimately me mixed and matched for a new twist on prep. Hippie and African trends are also back but for girls they boast a denim side bar and an organic feel to the prints. For summer, a tropical breeze blows in a bright floral look and the 80's athletic look complete with bright and billowy tops and bottoms offset by a few key snug layering pieces is in the forecast to be all the rage for girls!
