Fashion Snoops: Graphics from Trade Shows

First off, we are loving the hype around menswear these days. With so many great new brands exhibiting at Project, Pool and MAGIC, there are plenty of graphic concepts to talk about for Spring 08.

Survival of the fittest served its point with many tee shirt lines expanding into complete sportswear concepts. But on with the trends – we can’t talk enough about stripes. But we’re not talking rugby – think louder, like blurred stripes, white-noise black and white stripes, illustrated stripes that contain a grouping of graphics and more. Then there’s the retro conversation that dates back to the 80s and 90s. Hello New Rave neons and retro imagery! It doesn’t stop there. There’s still all-over printed hoodies, but now the prints are double-sided and even bolder, like zig-zags. Hip-hop still has it’s place but it’s also gone totally retro, like early 90s, so don’t forget that bling (now in the form of metallic foiling).
