Truly one of a kind. Japanese artist Takashi Murakami is the subject of a new exhibit at The Museum of Contemporary Art (MOCA) in Los Angeles. But this isn't your ordinary exhibit. Sure, there are over 90 works from the artist, which by the way in many cases plays up to the "kidult" and Twisted Innocence themes. This is the most comprehensive Murakami retrospective to date, with works shown from traditional Japanese painting to anime and Western pop art.

As if that isn’t enough! We’re all too familiar with the Murakami prints for Louis Vuitton (and there are some brilliant large prints in the retrospective). On site, there is a pop-up version of a Louis Vuitton store selling luxury leather goods right in the exhibit! There are even some bags and accessories designed specifically for the exhibit. This is the first time we’re seeing such a visual sampling of high art meets commerce; and we’re sure it won’t be the last. The Museum of Contemporary Art, 250 S. Grand Avenue, Los Angeles.
