Kohl's continues to ride the wave of their most successful franchises and has added a few new players to the mix.

In women's. Daisy Fuentes continues to be the name behind what we feel is the retail industry's strongest celebrity endorsed contemporary line. The collection always features diverse looks covering working basics, evening casuals and weekend fare. Prices (when discounted) are very attractive. The house brand Apt. 9 is also contemporary though it has more of the private label feel and is less focused that the Daisy Fuentes apparel. In Juniors, Candies continues to be the big name with Fergie headlining there. In children's wear, Chaps (Ralph Lauren's offshoot) is the big name on campus with its signature bright, preppy looks (though a bit too bright and preppy at times). In young men's, Dickies and Hawk are the featured lines while house brands round out the selection. We noticed that latina talk show hostess Christina is now behind the retailer's home decor products with her line Casa Christina and Rachel Ray's wares are the new essential kitchen hardlines. The retailer started with one celebrity line (Daisy Fuentes) and it appears that they will stand behind the star vehicle for as far as it will take them! See what looked best in each department:

Gimmicks and attitude are what drive the knit tops here. Some come with gifts, others come with a second layer 2 fer and others are simply in our face!

Hawk's big boy looks are on cue while Urban Ups 2fer strategy is still our favorite.

Jeans, jean shorts and cargo bottoms still dominate here.
