This is one of the industry’s favorite trade shows because it houses some the world’s best kidswear. For fall 2008, the show offered plenty of key brands including Guess, Woolrich, Brooksfield and more.

The looks stayed close to the cuff with outdoorsy and true boy looks for the most part, but some designers pushed the envelope and brought in key looks and concepts from the menswear realm. Slick nylon outerwear, colorful denim, menswear printed fleece hoodies and dark denim ruled the runway. Yearly favorites including plaid shirts, sweater vests and moto inspired jackets were back; albeit with fresh colors and twists in tow. Take a look at the brands presented and check back often as we expand our coverage of this and all trade shows in the coming weeks.

Brooksfield Junior : This collection rocks because of the color story they use. Greys, navy and deep berry shades are used in menswear patterns, argyles, stripes and in head to toe dressing looks. An earthier color story of taupe, navy and wine with grey also looked clean and fresh blazers, printed twill bottoms and sweater knits.

Calvin Klein: Klein’s city boy looked like a miniature version of Gas’ young men’s looks. Slick nylon bombers, techno screened tees and a royal, cream and black color story dominate here.

Woolrich Kids: Fresh rugby and preppy looks are on deck here in traditional red, navy, powder and neutral colors. Puffy and slick jackets, colorful denim bottoms and great all over printed fleece hoodies in menswear patterns are in the mix.

For older boys, stop in to see Guess and Energy for their color stories and plays on denim and on outerwear. For 4-6x boys, Woolrich and Sweet Years feature good fleece and layered looks for the younger boy. Finally, Disney showed their Disney Gold Collection, a group of posh separates branded under Disney. The looks were mostly non-Disney and clearly targeted at the upper end of the market, however some pieces did feature the Mouse. For active 2-6x boys, Brums still rules with their tightly coordinated sportswear.
