Home Tool Box > Bread & Butter Berlin IV: July 16 - 18, 2004

Berlin’s Bread and Butter show is now officially on the books as the must see fashion event of the season thanks to it’s impressive selection of brands present, the impeccable quality of the merchandise shown, the forwardness of the concepts and art put forth by not only the lines on the floor but by the installations throughout the various venues and because of the engaging and uninhibited nature of the visitors on hand.

For the childrenswear market, BBB offers a unique perspective on what is up and coming in the junior and the young men's markets. This show is all about hot denim, new art, merchandising that reflects the true nature of the young customer, sportswear with twists and turns from the sporting world and color, color, color!

There were several key directions here. Punk was very important with screens in neons with patches and seemingly random compositions. Naive all overs and childish silhouettes were also important as the junior market continues to borrow from the baby world! Luxe was another important concept with beads, sequins and intricate embroideries also shown.

From feminine to functional and all stops in between! Knit and denim fooler dresses looked like just the thing for the girl’s market while ruffled and mixed media styles continue to prevail. The knit waitress dress looks especially fun in neons while the trainer as dress is another sure thing for girls.
