The spring 2004 buying season is officially at hand. Magic busy as usual with an influx of new brands, forward looks, fresh colors and new takes on best sellers.

Take a closer look at Magic

Vespa and Disney appear to have coupled up in another licensing coup. Perhaps Disney is working n establishing the Vespa as the next teen thing to have by infusing the youth market with sassy images of their
best loved characters scooting around on some of the grooviest Vespas.
Or perhaps they are just taking advantage of the hipness of the Vespa brand. In any event the retro looking screens are great fun. Strawberry Shortcake is also making waves with sassy sportswear pieces that look
fresh but that have that nostalgia value as well.

Sportswear
Here the looks ranged from pretty summer casuals to quasi military looks done in soft twills. Soft florals were shown with denim, floral appliqués and pretty knit cardigans in slightly pumped up pales.

Sportswear as seen in juniors
The junior side of the event had plenty of new sportswear looks. The athletic pieces were divided into all out
downhill and speed related pieces and the softer more school based P.E. , cheer and track suit looks. Color blocks, piping and patches are on board while number screens and appliqués have never left the building.

Paramilitary as seen in juniors
The latest take here involves the use of shearing and ruching to increase volumes and to add interest. Soft
laundered cottons are cinched, elasticized and pulled up to change the dimensions and the overall look. Camo prints that have been recolored in pinks and mauves, reissued on knits or shown pale on twills with
screen prints on top were newest.

Pretty as seen in juniors
The pretty trend has, in juniors, taken on a sophisticated retro feel. The skirts have been lined with netting,
flounces are architectural and layered and subtle color mixes are on tap. Applied ruched ribbons and floral trims are also new.
