Outerwear is of particular importance now because it demands more retail space and the market is definitely finding room to accommodate a full range of styles. This is a trend that will continue on, much like dresses have, for seasons to come. Big picture: it's not about a few coats or jackets anymore. Outerwear has become more sportswear minded to the effect that it follows trends and details BY THEME. This means it's not about the 3/4 wool coat; it's about the 3/4 masculine wool coat or car coat with every bit of detailing.
