Bread & Butter is an invaluable trade show when it comes to graphics and exudes ambiance and cutting edge artwork. It's second time showing in Barcelona, Berlin increased in brands and attracted in excess of 50,000 visitors. The artwork and instillations seen at the show are a conversation all on their own, while graphic images and clothes pinpoint specific trend directions. We also included an assortment of cool kicks and people at the show that provide a nice retrospective of color use and just the way people wear graphics, art and print. Graffiti artists designing sneakers, pimped out rides and all sorts of interior display techniques make this one of our favorite shows to cover. More and more manufacturers are turning up the ambiance to create a loungy feel and draw in customers to come in for more than just business!

Brands are increasingly drawing from artistic viewpoints and incorporating some sort of illustrations to their brand identity. Cartoon like characters are still a big conversation, but not the typical ones. Brands are creating silly creatures that are more easily identifiable with their product. Other brands created full out display walls where passerbyıs could sign or draw on making them a part of the experience.

Graphic threads, especially tees, showed clear trend direction. The tattoo culture that started out with the likes of Von Dutch has morphed into motorcycle fantasy highlighting crests with eagles, bikes and more. Punk rock still reigns on the dark side with sculls and crossbones and vintage rock screens are sure to be found with glitz and glam detail.
