Magic
wrapped up September 1st and the show can be
summed up as the best it has been in years.
We saw more brands, more browsing and more
product than in years past. Highlights from the show include incredible graphics
( be sure to check out the graphics reports for more), stunning denim, very hip
menswear, well styled kid’s collections and tons of variety for junior
and contemporary women. Be sure to check out each section for the top trends
and best brands from the show floor!

| There
is a mix of old and
new at Magic; that
is everything old,
is new! Aging is key
for knit tops and tees
of every description.
Embellishment
is heaped onto jeans and tees alike with heavy embroidery seen
everywhere. Ethnic blouses are concurrent with that theme and we see
Seven taking the look into a Mexican look with indigenous Mexican
styled blouses. Mansy pants are also still out there with heavy camo
clamdiggers getting feminized with embroidery and art for newness. In
terms of new silos, we are seeing boyish bermuda shorts ( that look
especially cute with a nautical flavor), skirts with bustles (or
simply back interest!) and funnel necked fleece toppers. Roll up cuff
minis and vests in denim are must haves, especially if they are studded
or embroidered. Lastly, The OC is poised to hit the market with their
show derived styles. These goods will be available for order on the
show’s website. Incidentally, the website also offers in depth fashion
101 for viewers of all ages. Take a look at the best of Magic! |

| Screen
prints of American classics including
Marilyn Monroe, Coca-Cola, and
Mickey Mouse on vintage white,
red, and yellow tees
creates a timeless effect. Details include jewel incrusted trimming on
cropped sweaters, embroidered belts, and funky dangling jewelry. These
classic tees paired with trendy ruffle tiered skirts, comfy earth toned
stretch pants, and extreme washed denim looks best. |
| Camouflage
blazers and white silky racing
jackets are these collections
hot items. Paired with pocket
detailed Capri’s in white
and plaid create a wild effect
for the adventurous girl. |
| Details
are the main forte for this season
in BCBG. Contrasting jackets
and tops and embroidered trim
is key. Crazy floral
prints and gathered jean skirts created a new twist to this glamorous
feel. |
| Created
by Nicky Hilton, this collection
portrays California glam. Airbrushed
shirts, embroidered jeans, and
sailor prints create a
beach vibe. Pin stripe shorts, jeweled shirts, and cropped sweaters are
hip and look best. |
| Easy
and feminine knits were on deck
here. |
| Dresses
are this collections forte and
it is proven with the variety
of styles this collection portrays.
Detail of all kinds is
intricately placed from gathers, stripes, and jewels. The color palette
is earth tones and silhouettes are designed through flowing cotton,
spandex blend. |
| Earth
tones are portrayed this season
through flowing skirts and layered
tops. Gathered sweaters, destroyed
jeans, and casual
jackets are key. Details include sash belts, scarves, and knit
toboggans. |
| The
ultimate hippy vibe is portrayed
through this collection. Tons
of detail is created through
sequins and embroidery.
Multi-dimensional bohemian skirts in earth tones and floral prints are
key. Cropped knit sweaters and empire-waist gathered tanks look best. |
| Double
breasted jackets with contrast
piping and big button detail
are key for this collection.
Embroidered jeans paired
with knotted tanks look best. |
