BREAD & BUTTER BERLIN the “tradeshow for selected brands” went out with a bang featuring innovative designers all with substantial art influence. Exhibitors showed both late Summer 2006 and Fall/Winter 2006/2007 collections. The overall mood was exciting and the show has certainly surpassed speculations about BBBerlin becoming a German only tradeshow – as it featured many Northern European exhibitors and visitors. Be sure to examine the various aspects of this report so you don’t miss a beat!

ATELIER MOHR
The skinny is back! It's time for slim jeans and bottoms with great graphic screens and patterns.

HEMP HOODLAMB
As the name implies, we know there's some hemp involved here, but the outcome is pure burly wilderness.

JOE RIVETTO
Total funk is implied by punchy graphics and unexpected patterns on knits.

KATHARINE HAMNETT
A refreshingly great looking menswear collection. Denim is innovative with topstitch detailing and authentic repairs while graphics, stripes, and fooler tees are essential for any wardrobe.

MARLBORO CLASSICS
Western goes full throttle onto the ranch and takes vintage denims and leathers in its path. The outerwear is particularly well done.

QUBA SAILS
Numbers galore over jackets in small and large scale.
SPAIN ROCK
Ramones anyone? This line is fresh with black and white plays on multiple graphics a la the punk era.

THOMAS BURBERRY
A notch down from Burberry, this line is a bit more casual and layers elements like grandpa cardis with overcoats.

More and more brand awareness and identity is turning to art for newness.
