The Gallery show in Copenhagen is by-far the place to be for all Scandinavian designers. In fact many of them also participated in the Copenhagen Fashion Week runway shows. What’s so great about Scandinavian talent is that it’s quite new (most labels are under 3 years old) and they’re by far more daring and forward than the designers that are part of the international fashion circuit. Though there are a few that sell globally, most designers are celebrities of their own right in Denmark, Sweden or Finland.

There is definitely a menswear scene going on in Copenhagen, but it’s more street oriented than designer. Therefore there were only a few designers at Gallery that exhibited, though the ones that were there are well worth a look. Newness of shape is something that is greatly embraced by Scandinavian designers and that comes through (surprisingly) in menswear but is right on the mark with international menswear trends. Look out for the elongation of torsos and volume pants!
