At the dawn of a new president in the U.S., it's an ideal time for fashion to take a look back at classic American sportswear, channeling designs of the design pioneer Claire McCardel. And who better to nod to Americana than Michael Kors? Kors brought back classics like full below-the-knee skirts and 50s full dresses and skirts back into the spectrum, all belted at the waist. Others like Marc by Marc Jacobs and Trovata touched on classic picnic check patterns and color blocking. Colors placed an emphasis on blues with pops of red and yellow.
